
Pamela Antil, Managing Director & CEO
Pam Antil brings more than 25 years of experience in local government to Beacon. Before founding the Beacon Group, Pam worked directly managing and advising local government agencies throughout California, including serving as City Manager of Encinitas and Assistant City Manager/Chief Operating Officer for the cities of Santa Barbara, San Jose, Palo Alto, and Rancho Palos Verdes. Pam also worked as the assistant chief executive in her home state of Michigan for the cities of Ann Arbor and Novi. Before her most recent work in California, Pam advised local government, not-for-profits, and private sector clients as a Consulting Manager and Director for Grant Thornton, LLP, the fifth-largest public accounting and management consulting firm in the US.
As an avid networker and early adopter of social media in government, Pam founded the Municipal Managers group on LinkedIn in 2007, which now has more than 12,000 members. In 2015, Pam founded the League of Women in Government, the only nationwide organization for appointed women in local government. Pam is also an active member and former board member of the International City/County Management Association and Women Leading Government CA. She’s also recognized for her published articles and papers on a variety of topics including Advancing Women in Local Government, The Future of Policing in The United States, The Use of Social Media by Local Government, Local Government Design Thinking and Post-Merger/ Operational Due Diligence In The Private Sector.
Pam has a bachelor’s degree from Central Michigan University and a Master of Public Administration degree from California State University, Long Beach. She lives in Carlsbad, California with her husband, Dave, dogs Penny and Forrest, and enjoys visits from their daughters, who are chasing the Hollywood dream in Los Angeles.
